For the courage to recognise Christ in my neighbour

Lord, you said you would be found among the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick, and the prisoner.

I would rather look for you almost anywhere else.

Give me the nerve to look where you actually said you would be.

Then keep me from making it about myself: no rescuing, no performance, no photographs.

Let me be useful, consistent, and easy to be around.
