Community guidelines

Reading is open to everyone, always, with no account and no sign-in. Writing requires an account, and at launch accounts are for adults only. When you register you confirm that you are 18 or older. That is not because young people do not matter. It is because a small volunteer moderation team cannot provide the safeguarding a mixed-age community genuinely requires, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

You choose a display name. It does not need to be your legal name, and we would gently suggest that it is not. You can also publish any individual post as Anonymous.

New members write freely, but their posts and comments wait for a moderator to read them before they appear. Members who have been here a while and written carefully can be moved to trusted standing, after which their posts publish immediately. Moderators can approve, decline, remove, lock, or archive anything.

Every moderation action is written to a log that moderators cannot edit or delete afterwards. That log exists to protect you from us as much as anything else.

We will not always be fast. If your post sits for a day, nothing has gone wrong and you have not been judged.

Prayer requests. Honest questions about the faith, including questions you were once told not to ask. Scripture read slowly. Testimony, told at whatever depth you can bear. Works of mercy, planned and reported plainly. Parish life, including its difficulties. Asking for practical support, and offering it.

Doubt is welcome. Anger is welcome, including anger at God and anger at the Church. Silence is welcome: reading for months without writing anything is a real form of belonging here.

Harassment, threats, and contempt for any group of people. Victim blaming in any form, including the spiritualised kind that asks a person what they might have done to invite harm. Graphic description of violence or self-harm. Coercive spiritual advice: telling another person what God is doing to them, what their suffering is for, that they must forgive on your timetable, that they must return to a marriage or a household, or that their prayer life explains their pain.

Fundraising by individual members, including indirect appeals and links to personal payment pages. Sharing private contact details, your own or anyone else's. Partisan campaigning. Diagnosing anybody's medical or mental-health condition. Speaking as though you were another person's priest, counsellor, lawyer, or clinician.

Nobody here carries a verified clergy label. Manual verification by an admin may exist in the future, and until it does exist and is documented, treat every claim of ordination or professional credentials as unverified. Do not imply that you are a priest, a therapist, a lawyer, or a doctor.

Slurs of any kind. Threats of harm, whether direct, implied, or framed as prophecy. Outing another person, or revealing anyone's sexual orientation, gender history, or medical information without their consent. Attempting to identify, locate, or unmask a member, including piecing together details from their posts or asking others to help you do it. Pressuring anyone toward conversion or reparative practices, or offering exorcism or deliverance as treatment for sexuality or gender identity. Sexual harassment, unwanted sexual comment, and sexual approaches to any member. Claiming that anyone deserved abuse, deserved violence, or deserves to die, and telling anyone that suicide is warranted or that their death would be just. These are removed on sight, and repeating them ends an account.

Anything you post publicly is public: visible to search engines, to anyone who follows a link, and to people you did not have in mind while writing. Write as though a stranger will read it, because one will.

A post published as Anonymous does not carry your account anywhere a visitor or another member can reach it. The account is withheld at the database level, not merely hidden in the page. Moderators can see the account behind an anonymous post, through server-side tools only, and only because otherwise harassment and impersonation cannot be stopped.

Please do not include full names, exact addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, medical record details, identifying legal or court details, or information about another person without that person's consent. This matters most in prayer requests, where the instinct to give God the details is strongest.

A private prayer intention is never published. It is readable only by its author and by authorized prayer moderators. Full prayer text is never placed in email notifications. You can ask for your own content to be removed at any time, for any reason, without explaining why.

The privacy center sets out what is public, what moderators can see, and what is never shared.

This community cannot reach you. It cannot call anyone, cannot come to your door, and cannot act quickly. If you are in immediate danger, thinking of ending your life, being harmed by someone, or facing a medical emergency, please use services that can respond.

When a post contains crisis language we surface those services alongside it. That is a hand held out, not a rebuke, and it does not mean your post was wrong. We also want to be plain that automated word matching catches some things and misses others. It is not a safety system and we will not describe it as one.

The quick exit control in the corner of every page leaves the site immediately. It cannot erase your browsing history.

Every approved post and comment carries a report control. Reports go to moderators and are not visible to the person you reported. You can also mute a display name, which hides that name's writing from your own view of the room. There are no direct messages at launch, so there is nothing here for anyone to send you privately.

If something of yours was declined and you think that was wrong, write to us through the contact page. A human will read it.

There are modest limits on how quickly one account can post, and near-identical posts are caught before they are submitted twice. Accounts that exist to advertise, to recruit, or to farm attention are removed without discussion.
